The Other Room was set up for you. You, the public, were the first supporters of the project. Your money, pledged through a Kickstarter campaign, gave us the funds to get this theatre off the ground. The theatre will never stop needing your help, but we hope that, in exchange, we can help you in some way. Below are a few of the ways that you can get involved.
Did you know The Other Room is a registered charity?
By supporting us through donations, sponsorship or volunteering, you are helping make the The Other Room a model of best practice in artists support and training. In 2015, support from members of the public, companies and charitable organisations helps us to:
Offer 6 new emerging artist Assistant Director paid intern positions on our seasons to work with exciting established directors in creating extraordinary theatrical experiences.
Produce 7 new productions with Welsh and Wales-based artists and European theatre companies.
Curate a student drama festival, encouraging students from local universities to make and present work within our small venue, mentored and with full support from a professional venue.
Work with up to 12 emerging artists as part of The Kitchen, our emerging artists development programme.
Present a free programme of post-show discussions, master classes and Q&A’s to accompany our season.
Introduce three week runs, challenging the current programming pattern for drama across Wales and allowing word of mouth to spread, audiences to build, and giving shows vital time to grow and develop.
Anything that you can give helps us to achieve our aims. We never want to have to scale our ambition, but without the funds we need to move the theatre forward, we will have to. Every penny that you give helps to build a stronger theatre in our city.
