Get involved

As part of our New Page project, we are hosting TWO Online Creative Writing Workshops for people who missed out on their chance to submit the first time around, at no cost to you.

Led by Isley Lynn and Willy Hudson respectively, these free workshops will give you the tools to write your own play from scratch! Using prompts and interactive exercises, we will show you how to generate ideas and transform them into a unique short script. You don’t need any experience; just an interest in writing, something to write on, and something to write with.

SESSION 1: Tuesday 1st December, 6-8pm: Workshop with Isley Lynn and Dan Jones

This workshop is part of the Community Engagement branch of New Page, and is specifically designed for writers with protected characteristics - especially those who may not have worked with theatre or TOR before. If you are someone who identifies with a protected characteristic and would like to take part, you can book your free space here.

SESSION 2: Thursday 3rd December, 6-8pm: Young Writers’ Workshop with Willy Hudson and Dan Jones

This workshop, funded by Cardiff Youth-Led Grant Panel, will be aimed at 14-25 year olds specifically. Writers in this age bracket who have already submitted to New Page are welcome to join in order to help develop their skills, but unfortunately we cannot accept a second submission. Ticket Link.

Although tickets for both workshops are free, there is limited space, so please book in advance. If you have any questions, our Project Producer, Ben, will be happy to answer them at

Find out more about the New Page project here.

Isley Lynn is a USA/UK dual citizen playwright and poet. Her work is connected with the marginalised and misrepresented. She believes in making the ordinary extraordinary, that the personal is political, and that small stories can have global resonance. She writes plays which place new narratives centre-stage, either by taking a fresh perspective on a story you thought you knew well, or by unearthing untold or mis-told stories. Isley's writing credits include 15 Heroines (The Desert: Canance - A Good Story) (Jermyn Street Theatre), Albatross (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Gate Theatre), Skin A Cat (The Bunker), War Of The Worlds (New Diorama Theatre).

Willy Hudson is a writer, actor and producer from Devon. In his theatre work he likes to confront social taboos with autobiographical storytelling, comedy and fusion of form. Willy is currently developing a slate of fabulous new projects across theatre and TV. Acting credits include: Bottom (Soho Theatre), Noble Nine (VAULT Festival), Islanders (Soho Theatre), Peter Pan (Regents Park).
