Get involved

Want to get know our new Artistic Director Dan Jones? Because he wants to get to know you. Once again we are opening our door to Welsh and Wales-based actors for another round of open auditions. This time we are also looking to connect with creatives from across the theatrical disciplines through open meetings.

The Other Room was created for the theatre community of Cardiff, and having recently undergone some big changes we think it’s the right time to reacquaint ourselves with our neighbourhood and expand our pool of professional creatives. We want to get to know you better, so come on down, meet with Dan, ask him any questions you might have and show us what you’re about.

Welsh speaking performers and creatives are welcome to present their work through the Welsh language or bilingually.

OpenRoom: Auditions

Our Open Auditions will take place over the 29th of January between 10am and 5pm, and 30th of January between 10am and 8pm. We will be meeting people in pairs, and we ask that each pair prepares a short 5-minute duologue, as well as a 2 minute monologue each (which we may or may not have time for). We ask that you stick to published works for both your duologue and monologues. Participants must be over the age of 18 and NOT in full-time education. Just vote for an audition slot on the doodle poll and we will email you confirming your slot before the audition date. Due to the nature of this the auditions will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. If you have an queries, please email
