It's 1996 in the capital.

A seventeen old from Llanedeyrn estate, is our guide, as he and his school mates head into town and negotiate their way through the ever changing streets of Cardiff. This is a study of male friendship, the love and the violence, the codes, the loyalties and rituals, all set to a 90’s mixtape. It’s just them and the music.

Cardiff Boy is a dynamic one-man show that explore’s the 90’s in Cardiff. It follows a group of young lads, desperate to make an impression in an ever-changing city. Set to a mix of 90’s music, Cardiff Boy explores the effect music can have on our lives in both times of joy and sadness. Cardiff Boy upholds Red Oak’s reputation as an exciting young company creating and making interesting and engaging work based heavily in the South West (Bristol and Cardiff), after their ground-breaking debut piece ‘We Had A Black Dog’ premiered at Bred in the Bone Festival, Paris and The River by Jez Butterworth at Loco Klub, Bristol last year.
