“So many people here are getting swept out to sea. Tiger Bay’s filled with them. But it’s also filled with people who are holding on. Not to the place, the land, but to each other.”

One bitter January night in 1941 left Cardiff scarred to its core. As the Blitz rages across the city, four strangers from different worlds seek refuge in the Peel Street Mosque — the first of its kind in Wales.

What has brought them to this place on this fateful night? Are their hopes and dreams leading them towards an ending, or a beginning? And if they disappear into the chaos of war, will their stories be remembered?

Lost Tigers is the debut play of Cardiff-born writer Sadia Kidwai. It tells the story of one extraordinary night when small lives are caught in the sweep of history, colliding myth and the everyday to create a distinct drama experience. 

This August we are lifting the lid on the creative process and presenting 3 special performances - right in the heart of Butetown.

Lost Tigers community performances will be performed in EYST Cardiff community hall from 16th - 18th August 2026.

Performance starts at 7:30pm.
