SPREAD THE WORD

Share Your Stories

Do you have a memory you would like to share with The Other Room and the rest of our community?

It could be just a few words, perhaps with an accompanying picture or two, or even a video of you telling the story yourself, like you can see here. It can be anything. We just want to gather as many memories of the original TOR as we can.

Telling your story and sharing it makes a big difference.

It all goes towards convincing the powers that be that The Other Room is an important part of the cultural landscape in Cardiff, and Wales, and helps us make a better case for support.

Can’t wait to hear what you have to share.

The first show I saw there was Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons and I went completely alone, I didn't know much people there yet but it was such a good experience that it didn't take me long before I signed up to be an usher.

“The decision to present ‘Constellation St’ as a semi-promenade piece was made VERY late in the day - around two weeks before we went into rehearsals, I think - and it came out of a creative difference within the team. One camp thought 4 speeches in a row would be ‘too boring', and the other camp made the point that they have been written as 4 monologues. So, its form was a solution to that. Now, it remains one of the most ambitions productions at TOR because of that disagreement”

“Lots of people won’t know that the decision to present ‘Cardiff Boy’ almost didn’t happen. I was in discussion with The Other Room about producing a totally different play with Jack and April, but a few weeks before the season launch I had an email saying we’d lost the rights. Now I can’t imagine having not done Cardiff Boy!”
