“The melding of Welsh and English is similarly deft, doing what many productions that make use of both languages fail to achieve, which is to lean into the possibility and potential that a non-Welsh-speaking audience might not understand every line. It speaks to a theatrical confidence and sophistication that frequently characterises The Other Room’s productions”

Huno
by Tamar Williams

Huno was discovered through our 2021 programme, New Page, and was one of our six commissions. The play is known for the waterlogged set, that gradually flooded throughout the course of play was created – providing a unapologetically direct metaphor for the climate crisis. This bilingual play continues the tradition of taking an alternative stance on Welsh Language work. Unlike A Good Clean Heart or Hela, Huno did not build in access to the Welsh Language.
