The Dying of Today by Howard Barker was the second production of the ‘Life in Close Up’. Because the entire season was delivered on a shoe-string, the set was designed by the small creative team using, adapting what was left of the set of Blasted, with some members of the creative team chasing to share a fee to keep costs down! Despite this, The Dying of Today would go on to receive critical success and be chosen as production of the year at the Wales Theatre Awards.
It was on theThe Dying of Today, was when Dan Jones, who would go on to become Artistic Director and CEO of The Other Room would first volunteer as an assistant director.
