Baba Joon
by Lisa Zahra

Baba Joon was the debut play of actress and writer Lisa Zahra. Lisa performed in Fio’s 2017 production of Death in the Maiden, and was one of the 6 writers commissioned as part of The Other Room’s Three-Phase Participation Model project.

The play discussed the complexities of dual Iranian-Welsh heritage. Set in Swansea the play was performed in the Swansea Grand Arts Wing in collaboration with Grand Ambition, before touring to San Jose State University (USA). Marking The Other Room’s first international project.

Baba Joon was The Other Room’s first production after the ending of our lease at Harlech Court and our departure from Porter’s.
