TOR Emerging Writers

Before the COVID pandemic, The Other Room launched our TOR Emerging Writers programme in 2019. Sponsored by local TV studios Bad Wolf, the programmed offered 9 weeks of workshops for a group of 13 writers. This programme was meant to end with a sharing of each of their plays / screenplays at The Other Room, but we all know what happened in 2020.

Instead, thanks to the support of the Arts Council of Wales, we were able to present a series of online rehearsed readings that were hosted online of each of the participants plays.

Many of these plays have gone on to be developed further, and one participant, Lawrence Quilty was chosen as the winner of the Hope Playwrighting Prize.
